Mecca is a compassionate and dedicated therapist who truly cares about helping individuals and couples navigate through life's challenges while fostering growth and healing. She utilizes methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Gottman Method, and Mindfulness.
Background
I find it to be a great privilege to provide a safe space for clients to uncover chapters from their past or discuss heavy issues in the present that lead to greater understanding and movement toward their desired outcomes. In the midst of processing emotions and helping clients find meaning in their lived experiences, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and examine thought patterns helping cultivate healthier perspectives and behaviors. In addition to CBT, I use methods of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to emphasize client's strengths and resources that can cultivate change and become one step closer to achieving their goals. When working with couples my goal is to lean into the framework of the Gottman Method helping couples enhance their communication, deepen their emotional connection, and navigate conflicts with empathy and understanding. I believe that every relationship has the potential for growth, and I am eager to facilitate this journey for couples. It is my ultimate goal that my clients know they are heard, understood, and supported every step of the way.
Mecca is originally from New Jersey and relocated to Florida roughly 8 years ago. She obtained her Masters degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University-Orlando, while working in a nonprofit re-entry employment organization that believes in second chances. Outside of therapy, she enjoys connecting with nature, visiting small business coffee shops, any form of baby animal yoga and creating floral arrangements.
